Darsheel Safary who has become the latest sensation of Bollywood after his breathtaking performance in the Aamir Khan directed film ‘Taare Zameen Par’ is being choosy about films. He his making producers go for other talented kids. Darsheel was offered a role in a comedy film. It will be directed by the ad-maker Vikram Singh. And Darsheel’s loss is Tanay’s gain. For all those who do not know who Tanay is, then remember the child who walked with the help of crutches in ‘Taare Zameen Par’. He played the role of Rajan who was Ishaan’s or Darsheel’s best friend in the film. He had also played a role in Farhan Aktar’s ‘Don- The Chase Begins Again’.
Though the team of ‘Maastang Mama’ was eager to sign Darsheel for the film, they are happy with Tanay. Tanay is from Raell Padamsee's theatre group. The comedy film ‘Maastang Mama’ will also star Ruslan Mumtaz in a pivotal role. Ruslaan Mumtaz has earlier acted in the movie ‘MP3’ or ‘Mera Pehla Pehla Pyaar’ which was directed by Roby Grewal. Since the team of this comedy had no other option left when Darsheel refused to act in the film, they chose Tanay, whom Ruslaan feels is as good as Darsheel. Darsheel who has been busy walking on the ramp in the Lakme Fashion Week has of late become very choosy about his role. Darsheel was also seen in an episode of ‘Chak De Bachche’, which comes on 9X. This was his first appearance on television, the beginning of a huge career as well.
