Online Dating in Reel Life

Online Dating opened a new vista of imagination for those who tend to balance reel life and real life. Online Dating, as the word itself tells is, happens virtually; it is not real. With the internet becoming a part of daily life, films started telling the classes and masses how life was changing with this new technology.

It was way back in 1988 that the 1940’s love story, “The shop Around the Corner” was retold by the Warner Brothers as “You’ve Got Mail”. This comedy was an attempt to show how E-mail had changed the lives of numerous Americans. The intensity of online interaction increased with time and the nature of relationships also changed. The 2004 success, “Napolean Dynamite” showed how the central character first starts online dating and later gets involved in a physical relationship. “Euro Trip” and “Must Love Dogs” are two more films that concentrate on online dating and love. Even teacher student relationship got affected due to this online business. “Another Gay Movie” was one such film. And finally in 2007, a mother created a dating profile for her daughter in “Because I said So” breaking all inhibitions of ill.

Online dating has by all means come a long way; the films prove it.
