Tashan

‘Tashan’ was the one of the most awaited film of this year, and with a number of flops except ‘Chak De India’ that has been following the Yash Raj banner, this movie was expected to provide some solace. But reality is hard; ‘Tashan’ is a kind of film, which will certainly not help the Yash Raj banner. It is multi-starrer film with Kareena Kapoor or Pooja, Anil Kapoor or Bhaiyyaji, Saif Ali Khan as Jimmy and Akshay Kumar as Bachan Pandey in the lead role. The story has nothing new to offer and goes like this. Anil Kapoor is a gangster who is very much eager to learn English to impress his foreign delegates, Kareena is assistant of Anil and she brings in Jimmy who is a call center executive, is a big opportunist and a flirt. It happens one day that Kareena flees with 25 crore which belongs to Anil Kapoor, and he appoints electricity stealer Akshay Kumar to get the money back. The plot is hackneyed and is a very poorly directed movie. The director Vijay Krishna Acharya who has earlier written dialogues for movies like ‘Dhoom’ does a pathetic job. Nothing has gone right with the movie from its direction to dialogues to photography and the songs which are wrongly placed to the fight sequences and finally to the acting. Akshay Kumar as always has done a fair job in the movie and he is the only relief. The other casting members Anil Kapoor hams all through the film, Kareena does nothing to match to her ‘Jab We Met’ performance and Saif is a totally wasted.
